The Ganni Wrap Dress That Suits Everyone
This is the season of the floral dress – but making blooming prints work for a springtime party, and in the office, are two different tasks entirely. Which is where Danish label Ganni steps in. Their Dalton shirt dress in officially a hit in the Vogue office, purchased by three different editors with very different tastes.
“I spotted this dress in a store window near my home in north London and was instantly texting my friends about it,” says Vogue deputy editor Emily Sheffield. “I am wearing it today with pale, sheer tights and Balenciaga booties, but I’ll take it on holiday to Colombia next week to wear with tennis shoes.” Fashion editor Verity Parker purchased the identical style for a friend’s baby’s christening, but wears it to work with Céline slip-ons. “I don’t really wear dresses, preferring Ellery flares, or jeans, but the retro simplicity of the print appealed. It’s very easy to wear anywhere.” As for fashion news editor Julia Hobbs, “I like the zingy meadow green colour, which feels more modern than blush pinks, as much as the flattering tea dress cut. Roomy T-shirt sleeves and a concealed waist belt are never not your friend. Now that spring is finally here, it’s time to take a rain-check on the sportswear (for now).”
